5 years ago I was given a second chance at life with an autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation as part of my treatment for lymphoblastic lymphoma.
Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is the transplantation of blood stem cells derived from the bone marrow (in this case known as bone marrow transplantation) or blood. Stem cell transplantation is a medical procedure in the fields of hematology and oncology, most often performed for people with diseases of the blood, bone marrow, or certain types of cancer.
2 weeks ago I went for one of my yearly check ups. The check up went great!
I’ve posted some info and pictures on a page called Cancer.
Most of you are reading this because you saw it posted on Facebook, myspace or twitter, some of you lived through it with me. I will never forget the people that were there for me and the people that came to see me while I was in the hospital. You’ll never know how much it meant to me. It’s really mind blowing to see people come together for you, and I believe it’s a huge part of the healing process. Thank you everyone who donated blood, money and time for me.
For anyone else. If you have stumbled upon this site in a search for info on Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. There is hope. Never say die. Never give up. If I can make cancer my bitch… So can you.
